A spark is something that kindles, animates,
activates or stimulates.

A spark serves as both inspiration and catalyst.

From the spark of an idea – emboldening women around the world to make large-scale investments in women and girls – sisters Swanee Hunt and Helen LaKelly Hunt, in partnership with the Women’s Funding Network, have ignited a momentous movement of women, for women.

Margaret Fuller, gender theorist, once said: “If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it.”

Helen and Swanee knew that while 70 percent of the world’s poor are women and children, only a small percentage of philanthropic dollars are dedicated directly to women and girls. They knew that to change this reality, they would need to spark a movement towards funding women first.

Women Moving Millions is a result of that bold challenge Helen and Swanee have issued to women of wealth – to step out and use their financial firepower to light the way for generations of women to come.
