Ruth Ann Harnisch is “a proponent of muscular women’s philanthropy” believing that women must play big to maximize their power and magnify their voice. The President of The Harnisch Foundation, a certified professional coach, a passionate patron of TED, and a founder of SupporTED, Ruth Ann is also the founding funder of the Institute of Coaching at Harvard’s McLean Hospital, the Center for Sustainable Journalism at Kennesaw State University, and the Department of Journalism and the Writing Professions at Baruch College. She is also a past board member of the Women’s Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, recipient of her WMM gift. Prior to her philanthropic career, Ruth Ann was an Emmy-nominated television news anchor/reporter, radio talk show host, and Op/Ed columnist. She currently resides in Hampton Bays, NY, though her location on Twitter is listed as “Earth, or so I’m told.”
