An Evening of Spark and Inaugural Summit

What is Spark? It is the moment when head and heart meet and passion and purpose collide. Women Moving Millions invited members, potential members and many special guests to spark lasting change for women and girls at its first Inaugural Summit, a three day event that took place September 20-22, 2012.
The event began with An Evening of Spark on Thursday, September 20. This special dinner celebration included various speakers, such as: Jacki Zehner, Helen LaKelly Hunt, Gloria Steinem, Kimberly Davis of JP Morgan, and a keynote address by Tyra Banks, who was welcomed as a new member.
Over the next two days we held our Summit, which took place all day on Friday, September 21st and a half day on Saturday, September 22nd. The learnings continued here and members and potential members alike heard from many speakers with a wealth of knowledge in the women and girls arena. Speakers included: Stephen Lewis, Pat Mitchell, Vanessa Valenti, Leymah Gbowee, Musimbi Kanyoro, and many others. At an intimate dinner for Summit attendees, Women Moving Millions was pleased to welcome FOUR more additional new members!
We can’t wait to see what the future holds for next year’s Summit! Big thanks to all who made our first one so unforgettable.
